Now appealing!

Well they are wanting to send him home, because he had a kidney stone in November. He is appealing the decision. The appeal process can take two to four weeks. He thinks it is hopeful, I am thinking he is delaying the inevitable.

So if he has to come home he will have to go back to work in Boise. He will then have to reapply to join the National Guard, and can leave again for Basic Training in November 2010.

All of this is so frustrating. I can't wait until our lives are just settled and we can get back to "normal" again.

1st Phone Call Home

Well Josh is doing good. He is stuck in reception in hold-over; because of his past kidney stone. He dosen't know how long he is going to be there. He could be delayed for as long as a year. If so he will have to come home. Right now he is trying to do everything he can to stay there and be able to go through BCT.

The guys in his squad were goofing off, so they weren't able to call home forever. Other guys in other units were able to call sooner. Even though they were told not to bring cell phones most of the guys have them. So he was able to use someones cell phone today, and not have to use his calling card minutes. That was nice, so now he can save them for later.

It has been pretty laid back in reception, and even more so now is hold-over. They are just doing some cleaning duties. He said he hasn't had to do any push ups yet. He is there now with a guy from Tacoma, WA that is 30 years old and is also LDS. So at least he is in good company right now, but he won't have to be in hold-over very long. Tomorrow he is going to be able to go to Church, so that is good. He also was able to keep everything that we had him pack, so we did good.

Well I hope everyone who reads this will pray that Josh will be able to just go through with Basic and not have to come home and wait to go back again.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you keep in touch with him while he is gone.

Josh off to BCT (Basic Combat Training)

This weekend we went to Spokane, Wa and hung out as a family. We had fun eating out and swimming at the hotel. Monday morning we were up at 4:30 am to take Josh to the Spokane MEPS. We stayed there with him until about 11:00 am and then we headed home. Tuesday at 8:30 was his flight to South Carolina. We hope to hear from him soon, so we will have his mailing address.
